For thousands of years, the need to explore the sea was
limited to our ability to observe from the surface or by
walking along the shoreline. The inquisitiveness of what lay
beneath has captivated us ever since.
Early on, daring divers began their journey into the abyss
by simply holding their breath, then to helmet diving, and
eventually the use of scuba. Even today, technology is
constantly changing the way we explore the undersea world.
This site will share with you the many treasures of the sea
and its surroundings. Take a video tour of shipwrecks from
around the world that repose on the ocean floor and learn
the tragic and often violent story behind their sinking.
Behold the beauty of the many species of marine life that
roam the ocean that make these huge relics their home.
Included are image galleries of marine subjects from above,
beneath and near the sea, and many subjects that lay in between
our oceans.
Enjoy the journey.
